About

Welcome!

Hi, I'm Kristin! I have a fully equipped home studio nestled in quiet Morningside Heights (Columbia University territory). My intention with my humble inviting studio, Mind Body Aware, is to build a community-based authentic Pilates studio and wellness center. Mind Body Aware is a positive learning environment for people to explore movement and functionality in body, mind, and spirit through the use of the Pilates method and holistic health coaching.

About Me:

Originally a farm girl from Virginia, I am a teacher through and through.  I started teaching as a career at the age of 18, teaching swim lessons at the local YMCA.  While attending the University of Virginia, I decided to grow my teaching from the pool to the classroom. Upon receiving my Masters of Teaching from UVA’s Curry School of Education, I taught 4th grade, 1st grade and kindergarten in the public school system.  My career as a teacher continued to evolve, and at last, I was able to meld mind and body through teaching the Pilates method as a Romana Certified Pilates Instructor.  I received my comprehensive certification through True Pilates New York in 2012 and went on to obtain my INHC certificate from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2013.  I currently teach in my home studio Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday/Saturday and Thursday you can find me at Pilates on 66.  I utilize my classroom teaching skills, athletic experience, and health coaching credentials to give my clients a well-rounded experience in facilitating mind-body awareness.

The Real Deal

I am a die-hard Pilates enthusiast, herbal tea junkie, smoothie sippin', green juice lovin', runner(ish) and avid cyclist that is completely in love with my crazy-beautiful family who includes both my husband Brandon and our little girl Marly June.
