DOWNLOADING THE MEAL PLAN IS A GOOD START, BUT YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THROUGH IF YOU WANT TO SEE RESULTS!  I PROMISE, I HAVE ALREADY DONE THE HARD WORK FOR YOU (BE SURE TO CHECK OUT YOUR DEEPLY NOURISHED KICKSTART WORKBOOK), YOU JUST HAVE TO CARRY THE TORCH THE REST OF THE WAY! 
 
 

 

 

I RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO THE FOLLOWING:

  1. DOWNLOAD THE MEAL PLAN (IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY DONE SO) AND REVIEW IT MAKING ANY NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS AND CHANGES.

  2. PRINT OUT YOUR SHOPPING LIST.

    • ADJUST THE SHOPPING LIST ACCORDINGLY FOR ANY SUBSTITUTIONS AND INCREASED SERVINGS IF YOU NEED TO!

    • GO AHEAD AND CHECK OFF WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE IN YOUR PANTRY AND FRIDGE TO SAVE BOTH TIME AND MONEY

  3. DON’T SHY AWAY FROM ASKING FOR HELP!

    • I KNOW IT CAN BE TOUGH TO MAKE IT TO THE GROCERY STORE WHEN YOU HAVE A BUSY WORK SCHEDULE, HAVE CHILDREN AT HOME, OR BOTH!

    • DON’T BE BASHFUL IN ASKING FOR HELP.  PERHAPS YOUR PARTNER, MOM, SISTER, OR FRIEND CAN WATCH THE KIDDOS WHILE YOU GO TO THE STORE (IT MIGHT TAKE A TAD LONGER THAN YOUR USUAL SHOPPING TRIP BECAUSE YOU ARE LEARNING A NEW WAY OF EATING). 

    • ONLINE SHOPPING CAN BE EXTREMELY HELPFUL IF YOU ARE SUPER PRESSED FOR TIME!  IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT TO THE STORE AND HAVE ACCESS TO ONLINE GROCERY SHOPPING (AMAZON FRESH, FRESH DIRECT, ETC.) USE IT!

  4. BATCH COOK SOMETHINGS AHEAD OF TIME TO MAKE IT EASIER DURING THE BUSY WORK WEEK.

    • PLANT-BASED COOKING IS ACTUALLY QUITE QUICK AND EASY (NO MORE DEFROSTING AND WAITING FOR MEAT TO THAW).

    • I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU BATCH COOK THE FOLLOWING ITEMS AHEAD OF TIME AND FREEZE OR REFRIGERATE. (A GENERAL RULE IS IF YOU ARE USING IT IN 3 DAYS OR LESS REFRIGERATE – IF IT IS LONGER, FREEZE IT).

      • BROWN RICE

      • QUINOA

      • SWEET POTATOES

      • LENTILS

  5. HAVE FUN! 

    • REMEMBER, FOOD IS FUN! 

    • LISTEN TO A GOOD PODCAST WHILE GROCERY SHOPPING AND TURN ON THE TUNES WHILE COOKING IN THE KITCHEN. 

    • MAKE THIS A SACRED TIME FOR YOURSELF.
